How your minutes work across plans
All lesson types — private and group — draw from the same weekly minute balance. For example, if your plan includes 60 minutes per week and you use 30 minutes in a group lesson, you have 30 minutes remaining for a private lesson that week.

Which plan is best for beginners?
We recommend Private+ or Pro for beginners, so you can benefit from dedicated one-on-one instruction. As your confidence grows, beginner leveled group lessons are a great way to practice speaking with other learners. Both Private+ and Pro include access to group lessons.
Can I take group lessons on a Private+ or Pro plan?
Yes. Group lessons are included in all plans, and they draw from the same weekly minute balance as your private lessons.
Can I take private lessons on a Small Groups plan?
No. Private one-on-one lessons are only available on Private+ and Pro plans.
What is the difference between Private+ and Pro?
Private+ is ideal for learners who want to build confidence and fluency through one-on-one conversations with tutors of their choice.
Pro is for learners who want to achieve a specific goal faster — such as passing an exam, advancing their career, or preparing for life abroad. Pro tutors create a personalized learning plan for you and provide structured lessons and in-depth feedback every step of the way.
Can I work with Pro tutors if I have a Private+ plan?
No. Pro tutors are exclusively available on the Pro plan. If you'd like to upgrade, the unused value of your current plan will go towards the cost of your new plan.
What is the difference between a Super Tutor and a Pro tutor?
Super Tutors have positive student feedback from over 700 lessons.
Pro tutors are a separate, carefully selected group of expert tutors who specialize in structured, goal-oriented learning. Access to Pro tutors requires a Pro plan.
Is Pro available for all English levels?
Yes. Pro tutors work with all proficiency levels, and many specialize in specific levels. If you're a beginner, we have some tips just for you here.
Do you offer a Pro trial lesson?
